November 4, 200619 yr I can now announce the remaining vacancies in GlobalConnect. Firstly, I'll provide you with a bit of background on GlobalConnect. It's a large, multilingual VA with hubs in almost every part of the world, with the largest being VHHH (Kai Tak) in Hong Kong, EGLL (Heathrow) in England, Sheremetyevo in Russia, New York in the USA and Malta Intl in Malta. The VA itself is still under construction and has been in planning for many months, benefiting from consultation with real-world pilots. The fleet is large and varied; for example, just a few of the aeroplanes in London are the ATR 72-500, the Boeing 737-200, the Boeing 767-300ER, Airbus A330-200 and more, whilst in Kai Tak the hub manager has decided on 747-200's with the possible inclusion of 747-400's, 737-900's, Airbus A340's et cetera and in Moscow you'll find Tu-154's, Tu-114's and so on. Myself and staff have decided that we want every hub to have a distinct identity; fleet, routes, mehtod of interactivity (Hong Kong hub staff are working on an exciting new .EXE rather than relying on feature-limited HTML), era (for example, one hub that I'm personally managing is set back in time with older props and taildraggers) and so on. We believe that this will give greater enjoyment through diversity and are overwhelmed by the interest that we've had. The (under-construction) website is professionally created using the very latest software and is available in English and (partially) French at the moment, with Mandarin and hopefully (if I can find the time) Spanish coming soon. Obviously, that means that translators are important to maintaining our website and therefore are in great demand. We currently are supporting Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight and, to a lesser extent, X-Plane 8.xx. W hope to start to use FSX when complex addons become available. Launch is currently scheduled for December 2006, possibly January 2007. On to the vacancies: President of Operations (Asia) - oversees everything in the Asia region, with an estimated time commitment of about 3-5 hours initially. Hub Managers for: Moscow; Paris; Chicago; Stockholm; Beijing. Translators (any widely-spoken language) New Writer (if you want it more fancy, be 'Press Officer') - keeps 'News' section of website updated; posts in VA forums to make announcements.
