CRAWLEY, UK - 03DEC06flyValiant.com, the UK's newest scheduled virtual airline, announced today a number of proposals for tenders related to the airline's start-up.flyValiant.com, with offices in Crawley, Surrey, intends to commence operations in Spring 2007 after extensive planning and consultation. Based out of London's Gatwick airport, the airline will be positioned as an emerging competitor for the UK's low cost market.Airline founder Chris Doyle said today: "Having been a member of quite a few virtual airlines since my simming 'career' began over six years ago, it is quite clear that very few virtual airlines are well thought out, realistic and run in an adult manner. This is evident in the number of failed overnight startups, and of course in the relatively small number of enduring, succesful and indeed, inspiring airlines. What I'm hoping to do with flyValiant.com is create a truly adult, realistic airline that has been planned to a tee. This airline is not going to be set up overnight, and I am seeking dedicated and mature simmers to assist me in the creation of the airline."The proposals for tender released are as follows:- Branding and Imaging: The airline is in need of an easily identifiable brand, modern yet "classy", reflecting out low cost ethos but by no means cheap. - Wet lease of three A320 family aircraft: The airline is seeking tenders from operating airlines for the wet lease of three A320 family aircraft. Due to cabin crew training costs, all three frames must be of the same type within the family. Our preference is for the A319. The aircraft are to be operated in the flyValiant.com livery by the lessor to assess passenger and crew opinions on the brand and service. Assuming a succesful outcome to this trial, flyValiant.com would, going forward, be seeking to convert the leases to dry leases. At this point, flyValiant.com will provide its own crews.Tenders to be submitted to [email protected] All,As stated above, I'm in the (very) early conceptual stages of setting up this VA. At the moment, I'm looking for someone to work on the branding of the airline - colour scheme, logo, general image etc so that work can be started on the website (which is hopelessly bare if you care to venture there, still have the placeholder there) and on a livery. I do have branding ideas but my design skills leave a lot to be desired. With regard to the aircraft lease, I am looking for a current Airbus narrowbody operator to take on the running of a branding and route trial. In simple terms, the leasing VA will operate its own aircraft in flyValiant.com livery, with its own pilots. I appreciate this is a lot to ask a "competitor" to do, but it could possibly lead to a partnership/codeshare arrangement. As far as I'm aware, this has never been done in the simming world but happens quite a lot in the "real" world. As a "real" world airline crewmember, I do hope to make flyValiant.com as realistic as possible, and in my view this can only be done through well-thought out planning and mature management. I don't mean to bash any airlines, but there are many, many childishly run and shoddily planned VAs out there. 10 hubs and a fleet of 20 types at start-up? Eh, ok.Want to help out? If you're mature, have a passion for realism and can appreciate that this VA will not comence operations until everything is *perfectly ready*, you're more than welcome to sent me an email at [email protected] appreciate any assistance offered, and thanks for reading!Kind regards,Chris DoyleflyValiant.com
