These aircraft were ordered on a long-term lease from Airbus, as a part of the order that was placed for the new Airbus A350 airframe. The first few of the eight A330-200's will start to arrive soon, followed by the four A330-300's. As these aircraft come on, they will replace our aging fleet of McDonnell Douglas DC-10's. The ten DC-10 frames will be converted to freighters to be flown with our new CAV Cargo Division. The A330's will remain until the A350 rolls off the assembly line in 2014; the A350's will replace CAV's Boeing 767s, and unless plans change, they will relieve the A330's as well. CAV Management is very proud of our new additions, and we look forward to flying them very soon!http://www.flycav.com/CAVQ4Release/a330.gifToday, the last of the Boeing 737-700's arrived at CAV HQ, completing the order for 20 of the Boeing frames. When these aircraft were originally ordered, in addition, we purchased 20 option slots for the 737NG series; a few months ago, we converted 10 of those into firm orders for four 737-600's, and six 737-700's. Those aircraft will begin to arrive in the next few months, and today, we are converting the final 10 slots for ten more 737-700s! This will bring our total number of frames to 40! Our 25 older Airbus A320's will be retained for the time being.http://www.flycav.com/CAVQ4Release/737ng.gifAnd last, but certainly not the least- last December, our Chief Operations Officer Justin Martin secured four Boeing 747-400 aircraft to bolster our long haul fleet. These frames will also be arriving soon, and will supplement the four that we already have.http://www.flycav.com/CAVQ4Release/747.gifPersonnel Additions/Vacancies- Matthew Cianfarani, the Chief Instructor and acting FIR Chief at VATCAN's Winnipeg FIR has been appointed as CAV's new President, after Justin Shaw stepped down. Mr.Shaw will be missed, but due to real world commitments, he could not hold his office any longer. CAV staff and pilots alike welcome Matthew with open arms, and we look forward to working with him!- Trystan Verf, a pilot from CAV's Montreal Hub, and a native of the City of Montreal, has been hired as the new Montreal Hub Manager. Welcome Aboard, Trystan!- CAV currently has two vacancies for staff positions; both are hub manager positions, in Toronto and VancouverVisit Canadian Airlines Virtual today - http://www.flycav.comPlease note that Canadian Airlines Virtual and this release are fictional and are intended only for flight simulation purposes.
