A new idea for a Virtual Airline

Featured Replies

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself, my name is Tony Dalman and I have been the CEO of Delta Virtual (http://dva.sce.net) and have decided to expand my duties in the virtual world to JetBlue Virtual (www.takeoff.to/jetbluevirtual). With JetBlue Virtual I am doing something very new in the VA world. We are hiring pilots based on skill level, not just every new pilot on the market. There are tons of VA's right now that are for the beginner VA pilots. I wanted to build something geared more towards the advanced VA pilots. So what we are doing is making every Saturday our big flying day. The goal here is to get every single flight that JetBlue operates out and flying online on Saturday. Once we get a good staff for every flight on Saturday we expand to more days. We do require our pilots to fly a minium of two Saturdays a month, but understand that real world comes first. Pilots are more than welcome to come fly on more days, but Saturday is our must go day. We are using the real timetable, and flights are bid on a basis of seniority. We are also exploring a join venture in Dispatch services to keep track of flights, and crews for Saturdays. Delta Virtual has been flying online on Saturdays for some time now and has proven it can work. American Virtual has decided to come and join the fun on Saturdays using their schedules. This could someday begin some sort of virtual competition between VA's in on-time flights, etc. We are looking for both pilots to join up with JetBlue and come fly with us, and for other Virtual Airlines to come out with us and make the skies more realistic with traffic. Come visit our site, drop me a line, or reply to this post with your ideas. I know this idea is not for everyone, but I strive to make my VA experience more realistic and I think this is a way to do so. Thanks for your time,Tony DalmanCEO JetBlue Virtual www.takeoff.to/[email protected]
