December 12, 200223 yr Hello all,Just a brief post to let you all know about a "real world pilots" aviation club that I have started with a pilot colleague of mine. I am a student JAR-FCL pilot at Cambridge Airport (EGSC) in the UK and have formed a virtual club, centered around Cambridge in the UK with Tim Westnutt, a real world pilot/cargo/courier freight operations director. The club already boasts many members, from student PPL (National), JAR-FCL through instructors to Commercial ATPL pilots. We use the club as a virtual meeting point to share and enjoy our passion for aviation using standard web based tools such as a portal and forum etc plus our own unique voice based communications server. You simply download a small client, and can pop into the virtual club room at anytime you like when connected to the internet, and you are bound to find many other pilots from around the world in there sharing a virtual beer!We do most of our flying together "virtually" using FS2002 and ATC tools such as those provided by the VATSIM virtual air traffic simulation network. Many just use the opportunity to have easy access (without typing) to a group of fellow pilots with whom they can chat the evenings away!If you would like to learn more about the club and its philosophy, then please do pop by the site and have a look! Address is http://www.davetidwell.com/egscContact details etc are all on the web site.By for now, happy landings!Dave TidwellDave TidwellClub FounderCambridge Online Flying Clubhttp://www.davetidwell.com/egsc
