American Flight Airways launches LCC Alpha Jet

Source: www.flyafa.comDetroit, MI (July 22, 2004) - American Flight Airways announced the creation of a new low cost carrier division dubbed Alpha Jet. The new divison will operate Boeing 737-800 aircraft out of two hubs located in Detroit, MI (DTW) and Oakland, CA (OAK). The carrier will offer flights to major destinations while at the same time servicing less busier airports in those areas to avoid traffic delays. While Alpha Jet currently is planned to have 2 hubs there are possible plans for the carrier to create 2 more hubs in Tampa, FL and Kansas City, MO. Alpha Jet currently has a tentative flight destinations list which was made available to the public and is listed below. DETROIT, MIHouston, TX (Hobby) Savannah, GA Tucson, AZ Dallas, TX (Love) Washington, DC (Reagan) Burbank, CA Ontario, CA Daytona Beach, FL Oakland, CA Sacramento, CA Sarasota, FL Tampa, FL Hartford, CT Birmingham, AL Jackson, MS Chicago, IL (Midway) Long Island, NY OAKLAND, CAAlbuquerque, NM Boise, ID Spokane, WA El Paso, TX Ontario, CA Burbank, CA Dallas, TX (Love) Detroit, MI Chicago, IL (Midway) Tucson, AZ Phoenix, AZ Tampa, FL Providence, R.I. Fort Lauderdale, FL Las Vegas, NV Alpha Jet will take delivery of new aircraft starting this week with plans for flight operations beginning July 30. http://flyafa.com/forum_images/alpha737.jpgAFA CEO Kenric Smith stated "This new low cost division will be a great addition to AFA operations offering low cost jet service to airports currently not serviced by our normal AFA operations bridging the gaps in our route system."
