January 19, 200620 yr Hi, Air New Zealand Virtual (opening soon) is looking for a web master/designer. We are talking to the real Air New Zealand for rights. This is going to be a very realistic VA, we will use a proper .com server, no freeones here. All staff will have dedicated Air New Zealand Virtual e-mails. Contact me on [email protected] (MSN and E-mail), or [email protected] (E-Mail.)We are willing to pay the Web Master/Designer. Hope to speak to some of you soon, Brandon (CEO Air New Zealand Virtual, opening soon)
January 21, 200620 yr Please try to be original. We have been operating for 5 years now and have a roster base of over 200 pilots. We are the largest and only surviving Virtual Air NZ around, aswell as the largest VA in New Zealand. We operate a full, up to date and complete schedule of all AirNZ & Link flights and when we launched initially, our logos and colours for the fleet repaints were supplied by Air NZ themselves. I still have the PSP pack containing them if you'd like.Apparently you are well known in the VA world for copying existing VA's, so I would like to see your response to this as I think it would make a very interesting conversation...Owen MitchellCEOVirtual Air New Zealandhttp://www.virtualairnz.org.nz
January 21, 200620 yr Hello Owen,There is no rule against making a VA that already exists. If you think you can do better, then do it! About this copying of over VA's, I have no idea where this has came from. I have only been on the management of other VA's, I have never copied an existing VA. This would be my first, and as i said before and other people have told me, If you think you can do it better, do it!Thank you,Brandon
January 22, 200620 yr A Couple of things Firstly Owen Mitchell has done it himself thats his VA he is talking about! Now theres a flaw to what you are planning! First off what you have announced is just a idea you have without solid foundation and I doubt you would get it off the ground. Never brag unless you have somthing solid to offer!Your using Free email addresses not thats much of a problem, You dont have anyone to design as you obviously lack the skills to do so! Which gives Owen the edge as his website is a registered domain name housed on its own server. Now I myself would wish you every success IF and thats a big IF You can get this going! Dont worry about representing the same Airline as Owens VA, his VA may have been around for 5 years BUT its outdated and he has been making promiss for the last 2 years he is going to update it! Finally he got the schedules updated but most of his pilot base has moved on so he is living a dream thinking he has 200 members! Its easy to keep a site running for years at a time but what about keeping it updated? His claim to be the only or biggest VA in New Zealand is also misleading as there one other strong VA I know of dedicated to flying in New Zealand. And theres several other VAs that have spin off divisions in New Zealand which strictly speaking dont count.Good on you if you can create a Virtual Airline that represents the natinal Flag Crrier of New Zealand and fly excluse Air New Zealand Routes then I am sure you will be on a winner!Owen before you dis someones ideas why dont you get your house in order first or even let someone else with imagination run it? Big EGOs lack of progress.
January 22, 200620 yr Hi Jack (I assume your name is jack from you username)Thank you for backing me up, and i agree with some of your points that we will not get this VA off the ground but you will be surprised, our VA will get off the ground and it will be succesful. We are purchasing the server with dedicated emails ONCE we get started and get approval. I do not want to purchase the server and find out that we have to close down for legal reasons. We have found a proffesional web designer/master who will make our website, forum and automate everything for us aswell as other things which i cannot give out details to yet. Who ever said that the CEO has to make the site himself? No offence to you Owen, but we are making this VA for the reasons that Jack mentioned above among many others. We plan on being the biggest and best Air New Zealand virtual around.Brandon
January 22, 200620 yr First of all Jack I didn't say i was the only VA in NZ, i would suggest you re-read my post, and secondly 18mths ago the updated website was sent to the webmaster for coding. It wasn't me that held that up, I had done all the design work on it. Secondly Jack my ego isn't so big and I am getting things together, but any one that actually runs a website of this nature knows that things don't just happen when they want them to. You get held up by people on a regular basis.HOWEVER as I did point out in my initial email it was brought to my attention that this guy does this regularly, tries to copy existing VA's. Now I never said there was anyhting wrong with multiple VA's of the same company, after all I happen to know several, but when it's someone that makes a habit out of doing it, then thats a little pointless. As for Brandon, people can say I boast and yeah I do, after 5 years I can, im still here... But here comes someone saying they are gonna be the biggest and best V.Air NZ around (your own words) but do you know how many years of work that takes? Do you know how many hours actually goes into running a VA? Don't get your hopes up too high coz it's gonna take a long time. If you really take it seriously that is (and take that as advice, not criticism)I'll watch this space.
January 25, 200620 yr I dont Agree with you. If he wants to start it then let him...but May I suggest Geocities as the FREE or PAID host and www.co.nr as the FREE domain... it covers the Geocities.com domain!
