To piggyback on the other thread about which model (4200,4400,4600) I'd like to ask, what do people recommend as to brand - there is a range of prices, but are they really any different? Thanks!I currently have a GeForce2 Ultra DDR.

I have been very happy with my new MSI G4Ti4200-TD card. $161 at newegg.com and free fed ex shipping. I searched quite a few sites and the MSI cards got excellent reviews and were often at the top of the list in terms of benchmarks. MSI is a company with a strong reputation. I previously had a Geforce 2ti by PNY and was not at all happy with the quality.Another card that I almost bought is the leadtek Geforce4 TI4400 128M $195 at newegg.com. It also got rave reviews (and looks damn cool) but as I mentioned before I did not see the advantage of the 4400. They have some ti4200 cards that look nice too and are about the same price as the MSI one. Leadtek is another company with a very strong reputation. Just my two cents...Brewmaster*The maple porter will be ready by thanksgiving.*

On the frontpage of guru3d.com is test report for Albatron 4600. Another site said the Albatron 4400 can be overclocked at least as much as the other couple of brands they had tested. All retail Albatrons come with extras which mean nothing to me but maybe it does testify to a quality product (lots of cables, connectors, full versions games Serious Sam and Motocross Madness, cool graphics on the fan, 8 ply glass circuit boards). Well it all sounded good enough and since Albatron was by far the cheapest I found a pricewatch.com that's what I went with for a new 4200 128 MB card. It works great so far, no problems, very happy, huge improvement in FSAA and anisotrophy over my last card a GeForce2 GTS.$140 including FedEx shipping, 128 MB full retail== WHK ==
