September 18, 200223 yr Hi.When the wind direction is given that is the direction that it is coming FROM isn't it? So if the wind direction is 135 it is actually blowing in a WESTERLY direction? In other words it would be moving with the aircraft and not hindering the progress of the flight?Reason I am being so cautious is that I am trying a flight right on the maximum range of the airplane and I don't want to run out of fuel!CheersRic
September 18, 200223 yr Yes, winds are always given in the direction they are coming from. Example: Winds 090 @ 10. This means the winds are coming FROM the East (blowing towards the West) at 10 kts (11.5 mph).
