Try this if you haven't already...After maximizing FS2002 after pressing Alt-Tab, Press Alt-Enter to go to windowed mode and then Alt-Enter to return to full-screen. Sometimes this helps me reclaim lost fps.Also, using FSUIPC 2.90 and the autorun program part of it, you can have almost any program load-up when you start MSFS. Pretty nice.
