Anyone having problems with the Mel/PSS combo??

Featured Replies

I've been able to get the panel working and the load edit. The FMC seems to work fine with the exception of the Auto Throttle, I can't seem to get the autopilot to keep either the FMC or the MCP selected speed? Any ideas? Do I have to change something in the Aircraft config to make it work? Thanks!!

Are you using the file that Johan Dees provided to Mel (on the Meljet website) that makes the PSS panel and airfile compatable with the Meljet plane?

Are you using the MJ airfile with the PSS panel? If so, then it's the MJ airfile that's the problem. For some as yet unknown reason, the autothrottle oscillates back and forth while trying to reach the selected airspeed but once it gets there, holds the speed almost perfectly.:) Melvinwww.meljet.com

Thanks Mel and Tincan, I am using my own combo config and the original air file that came with the download. I'll go back to your website Mel and see what files you have there, as long as other people are able to get the two packages to work then I know the problem lies with me. Thanks for one heck of an aircraft Mel!!!!!

I don't have the PSS panel. I am just using the default b747_400 panel that came with FS2k2. I have the same problem with MelJet 747. The autothrottle keeps oscillating back and forth and the aircraft seems to keep bobbing up and down. Also, for some reason, the aircraft does not follow the glideslope. It captures the glideslope and the aircraft wants to land like a mile away from the runway.

Open up the FSUIPC in FS & in the technical section select fix acceleration control. After doing that I didn't have anymore oscillating. That I think did the trick. At least for take off and climbing using the auto throttle. And I have the PSS panel. I did notice that the file on Mel's site must have been in another format. I had squares were returns should be in notepad. I did fix it though & so far no problems. Haven't done a complete flight yet.John
