Recommended Posts

LAGO has just released a patch that fixes the errors in the first Twin Otter release. We apologize for the errors that were present and you can download the patch at www.lagoonline.comBelow you find a copy of the readme file included with the patch.Regards,Marco BlauwhofLAGO Concepts & DevelopmentTwin Otter ReadMe.Monday 11 November 2002This text holds the information we gathered afterthe manual was put to bed.---------------------------------------IMPORTANT INFORMATION:- Next to the manual there is a PDF formattedchecklist that is intended to be printed (doublesided) and folded into a leaflet. This will undoubtfully assist you in any flight. You canopen the checklist from the "Windows start menu | LAGO | Twin Otter" - Some user had trouble trimming the aircraft. You can find neutral trim by trimming until you see the Neutral Trim light up on the warningpanel (or by looking at the trim surfaces on thestabilizer, they are animated).- Some users reported that they could not startthe engines. Please note that the FS2002 AutoStartdoes not work in this aircraft.- The ground handling of amphibious aircraft is always complex as they can not steer the 'nose'wheels. You have to keep your heading with theremaining three options; .seperate engine control (use [E]-[1] and [E]-[2] to select an engine).seperate braking (use [F11] and [F12].when you have some speed the rudder will also help.- The float and Amphibian versions were never equiped with water rudders. While floating you have to keep directional control with the enginesand the rudder.---------------------------------------HISTORY1.00 Release version1.01 First fixes- Missing textures in VC added- Gauges compiled again to avoid loading problems- Fore flaps ("flapperons") added- Air file issues addressed, 80% loaded.- Landing lights in VC added- Taxilight animated to steer with nose wheel- Missed texture for Air Hokaido door/stairs added- Maldivian spelled correctly in manual and aircraft.cfg- The light switches are now correct (there are some options here, we used the wiring as used by some aircraft we have seen in person. The NAV switch is not used here as it is identical to the POSN switch).- Manual changed to explain repainting issues better.- Gauge load problem corrected- Gear Warning sound removed for floaters/amphibs- Flight plan added for test flight- Test Flight Startup Flight edited to have trim neutral and ignition set to 1- Readme inserted on Aircarft notes (press [F10].- Annunciator electrical feed corrected, now will be dark if no battery power is on.- Panel Light switch corrected, now only switches on panel lights.- Radios now electrical connected to DC bus---------------------------------------KNOWN LIMITATIONS:- Opening the PDF formatted manual from within FS2002 might result in a failure. No crash orsomething like that, just nothing. This is because Acrobat Reader times out due to the highresource load of FS2002. trying it again willopen the menu. We can not fix this problem.- The GPS window cannot be opened with a shortcut key because Fs2002 allows only 10 windows to be in the panel files. You can however select it from the "Views | Instrument" menu.---------------------------------------TIPS:- Print the Checklist and keep it in your cockpit!- Now you have a great aircraft, you need a fewgreat airports that suit this aircraft. Try ourGeoRender airports or Emma Field, they are theperfect base for this aircraft add-on.---------------------------------------FREE ACROBAT READERThe manual for the download version is created inAdobe Acrobat format. The CD version of FSScenery Enhancer contains the Acrobat Reader inthe UTIL directory. You can always get the latestversion from :www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.---------------------------------------Copyright © 2001 / 2002 LAGO Srl. and Vista Mare.
