"The Phantom Menace" MSI G4MX440 TV Card

Recommended Posts

Guest

Well call me a sucker, i recently bought a MSI G4MX440 TV card as part of an upgrade to my computer (everything in it is new except the OS). Unable to run any games on except for Fleet Commander (ain't that a blip!). Anything else that i've loaded on will crash if i start the game. Has anybody with this particular card had the same problem? Dont wan't to put in the old Voodoo card to make it work so repsond soon!

I suspect it might be the OS. I have windows 98. Here's the specs for my box:processor: PIII 866 MHzmotherboard: DFI NS70Cvideo: MSI G4MX4400 AGP TV Cardram: 768 MB SDRAM PC133modem: 56K Lucent WinModem...i'm thinking about wiping win98 off the box totally and going up to XP home Edition. comments...

I have the same card and everything works fine - except FS2002 ...Well, FS2002 runs fine, but there are no reflections and no detail textures ( resp. detailed multitextures on ground or water ) I tried several drivers, with no success. It seems, that this is a general problem of GeForce4MX ( according to another forums over the net ). Maybe it has something to do with limited support of DirectX8, but then I can't understand, why everything works fine on my previous GeForce2MX and even on old TNT2 ... I thing, that this is the real "The Phantom Menace" of GF4MX ...Milan
