Graphics card problems

Featured Replies

I posted this in the MSFS forum without any success. Hopefully, someone can help. I have a p4 1.9 gig computer with a leadtek GeForce 2 Pro video card and am having problems with lock ups. In graphically intense games (IL2, Need for Speed Porche and only sometimes in MSFS 2002) the game freezes with a pattern of coloured lines on the screen. I have tried every driver out there (currently using the 29.42 drivers from the NVIDIA website) with no help. Once, and only once, I got an error message on reboot saying that the card had failed to execute a draw command. Otherwise, a hard re-boot comes up as if nothing had happened. Is this a card going bad? Is this a card overheating? Even with the driver the darned thing came with, the same thing happens. Thanks for any help. Colin Oh, I'm running XP Home, the system is a Dell, upgraded from a 1.4 423 pin to a 1.9 423 pin processor and I have a turtle beach santa cruz sound card.

It does sound bad. At first I did not think you posted your specs, so I was going to refer you to:http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...umID56&archive=but I see at the bottom of your post you've been there, done that. OTOH, please refer to the thread, and see if it triggers any other "hints" you can provide.Cheers,bt
