Multiple Monitors in FS2002?

Featured Replies

I have three monitors set up and working in Windows XP, but can't figure out how to get MSFS2002Pro to use them all. Any suggestions or help to get some peripheral vision while flying would be appreciated. Thanks!-flydave

In general, the only thing you can use your additional monitors for is displaying panels (GPS, radio stack, etc.). If you want additional views of scenery in real time, then you will need to use an additional networked computer for each view, and use the freeware program WidevieW to allow each "client" to communicate with the "server" that runs your primary view (usually the forward view). Having said this, Georgi55, who frequents these boards, recently showed that with a dual out GF4 Ti4600 (or maybe it was a 4400), he could run additional views in the windowed mode, and then move the additional view onto the other monitor (if you search for his name in the author field, you should be able to find the post, although the picture will no longer be there). This apparently worked without affecting performance, so you can try this if one of your other monitors is running off a dual out card. But don't be surprised if the simulator starts to crawl when you do this. If you're using PCI cards for the additional monitors, then I'm afraid that the best you can do, short of buying additional computers, is display a variety of panels (which is very helpful in and of itself). Hope this helps you.
