September 5, 200223 yr I don't know if I'm the only one, but I've been experiencing problems of late. I haven't upgraded my system and have been operatinng FS2002 for 10 months without any problems whatsoever till now. Sometimes I get a blue screen error and have to restart my computer using reset ( cold boot). But sometimes I get dll errors ranging from terrain.dll, ai_driver.dll to G2d.dll and G3d.dll. I use a PixelView Geforce2 MX/MX400 AGP card. The only thing i upgraded was ram from 128 to 256 mbs. I have both win98 and xp installed and the problem is same on both OS. I downloaded the latest drivers of my Video card but to no avail. Could it be due to my video card, sound card or ram? I would dearly appreciate anyone who's willing to help me resolve this frustrating matter. I have the following basic system.Intel PIII 800 Mhz ( 133 MHZ ),Intel 815EEA Mother Board,Transcend USA Ram 256 MB ( PC133 ) [ 64mb x 64mb x 128mb ),Pixel View GE Force 2 MX/MX400 with 32 MB ram,Creative SBL Live Value! sound card,Realtek RTL8139 Lan Card,56K Modem with Conexant chipset,Seagate 20 GB HDD ( set on Primary Master drive ),Seagate 1.2 GB HDD ( set on Primary Slave )Benq 52X CD-ROM LG CR-RW 1 X 10 X 40 drive
September 5, 200223 yr I'm sorry to say it but it may be the RAM. Did you try taking the new memory out and seeing if it still had the problem?
September 7, 200223 yr It worked! Thanks a lot. It was indeed the new memory which was causing the conflict with the older one. I removed it and all worked fined. Really appreciate your help mate!
October 11, 200223 yr Thanks very much for your posts!I've had almost exactly the same problem with FS2002, and other apps using 3D, starting in August. After re-installing everything and replacement (luckily under warrenty) of the motherboard, hard disc and video card the problem was STILL occuring and I'd just about run out of ideas.Your post prompted my to take out the 256MB of ram that I installed back in February(!!!) and revert to the original 256, as supplied.Et voila! the problem has gone.Re-install the ram, reversing the positions of the sticks, and BSOD within 30min!I wonder why the delay in failure?Happy again!!! :DRegards,Roger"Time Flies at Old Warden" www.shuttleworth.org
