I've been a flight simmer for a while now, but one thing has *always* frustrated me... It's very hard to fly staring out of a cockpit represented by a 21" monitor.I've tried the FS2002 trick of networking several computers together (with the monitors next to one another) and achieved slightly better realism (no up and down movement possible there). I've tried the VR head tracker, which I found awkward. My question is... Has anyone out there tried a "real" (by real, I mean ~$1000) VR goggle system with any commerically available flight sim - i.e. Fly! FS2002, X-Plane, etc? THere seems to be so little information on the web about people who have really tried it.I find myself shunning flight simming as of late because I'm so sick of the lack of realism. For example, peripheral (sp?) vision is really important in landing, as is being able to judge the angle your nose makes with the runway on downwind. Without this side to side vision, it simply isn't that realistic (btw - I don't like using buttons on my yoke to pan views either - its awkward!).I'd love to hear other's thoughts on this and perhaps some solutions. Thanks,ZB

You might have a look at the Matrox Parhelia video card with 3 monitors. It will give you 160 degrees of vision across the 3 displays. I wish I could tell you how well it works, but I haven't used the card myself. Take a look at www.matrox.com for more information.
