HeyI am thinking about getting this card BUT I just came over from *Rage3D* and it still appears that there are quite a few serious issues with this card ??????Yet there are many people who sware by this card so I must conclude that there are good and bad 9700s released, what do you think ?I mean it appears that the card either works great or it dosen't. If you are using the 9700 please explain to me what *exactly* you did to get it working correctly.Me being an Nvidia dood for the longest time means that when I install my new card it always works. I have never ever had one GeForce not work well and I have had them all.I tried the ATI-8500 (128m) last year but had to take it back since the game which I was playing alot of at that time was buggy with it.I know that the second paragraph here might appear a little odd but it certainly seems that way to me...Please also list your current drivers that you are using too. Thanks

Saint,I just purchased a 9700 2 days ago. I also owned a 8500. I was a thru and thru Nvidia guy, but found the 8500 mismarked at a local computer store so instead of it being $299, it was $139...so I bought it. After a day, I was ready to replace it with my GeForce 2 GTS that I had. FS2K2 had horrible texture flashing with the drivers at that time. There was a fix, but I didn't like doing it. But, I stuck with it. And I'm glad I did.Maybe it's human nature to root for the underdog, I don't know. But I will probably always buy ATi cards from now on. Sure, the 9700 probably has issues. But ATi made a commitment to release drivers on a regular basis and they have. Beta drivers can be found on an almost bi-weekly basis. So, I would buy it. It is a quality card with a lot of features that current software doesn't take advantage of. Sure, sometimes those features need a driver fix to work, but I'm willing to pay that price.Chris

Makek sure to use Detonator Destroyer o remove old drivers (Guru3d.com), use latest Catalyst drviers (62xx) and should work with no problems. I love it. More of a huge leap forward rather than tyhenext evolution in Vid cards. 6x AA with virtualy no FPS penalty.

I bought eDimensional's 3D glasses and they worked well with lesser games than FS2002 but my machine couldn't support that game AND 3D without unacceptable stutter and blanks. Finally I got a new computer and specified the 9700Pro so that I could fly in 3D (the taste I got was very good). Now I find out that it may be awhile until I can do that anyway. Copied below is a reply from support at eDimensional:"The E-D glasses system will work on Windows XP using a Nvidia graphics card. If you do not have a nvidia graphics card you will need to use Windows 98 or ME. You can do this on XP with a dual booted operating system or use another harddrive, or which ever method is easiest. Keep in mind that the 8500 version of the Radeon is not compatible with the drivers. If you wanted to use the glasses on XP you can use them for viewing images on the web with our E-D activator program at www.edimensional.com/software_updates.html in interleaved mode. The pictures in our gallery are in interleaved mode. Directx has not been compatible with Windows XP for any other cards besides Nvidia. We are waiting on ATI to release their stereo 3-D glasses drivers for their video cards. Voodoo and Kyro cards may come later in XP and 2000. For now there is compatible for all radeon cards other than the 8500 in Win 98 and ME. We do not know of the release date for the directx game compatibility for 2000 or XP as of yet. We hope the drivers come shortly, but there is no date on their release at this time." I had to come out of "retirement" (inactive users) to pass this on, but felt inquiring minds would want to know.
