December 18, 200223 yr I just ordered a new mobo, processor and psu. Can I install this, or leave it to a professional? My experience is limited to installing RAM and an internal CD drive. Have no clue about BIOS or anything like that. Thanks for the help.Todd
December 18, 200223 yr Read the manuals, they usually explain jumper settings and BIOS options. Don't shock anything and don't force the pieces together. good luck!

Needs just the correct, thin amount of heat-transfer compound. Some have ornery clips that require screwdriver assistance and you don't want to scratch the chip... etc.,etc.But people do it all the time.I found out that I could select my preferred brand name components from a discount supplier, then have them assemble and provide the "system", for no more than if I had collected the parts and assembled myself.Art.
