9700 pro & FS2002 some problems

Featured Replies

I did a clean install of win xp home, loaded my chipset drivers, then the CAT 2.5's. Now I changed the AA AF in the ATI control panel and took off Application Pref and set it myself. When I run 3dmark, no problems what so ever. When I run FS and Load Simflyers KIAD and PSS a320 to test it out, my computer will randomly reboot?!? After it reboots I try to load up FS and it will freeze at the start up screen. So I have to Uninstall fs and try again. This time I left the AA & AF to Appication Pref and it seems to work, but haven't tested enough. Going to try UT2003, but i think it is driver issue with FS more than anything else. Would the CAT's 2.4 be better? Thanks P4 3.06 GHZ w/HTAsus P4PE1 GB 2700 DDRATI 9700 Pro WD 80GB 7200 Enermax 450WWin Xp homeCAT 2.5

It's likely the motherboard that's giving you the grief. That's why I stayed with the Intel D850EMV2. Everything works fine.

Keep tweaking. I have an Asus P4 with a 9700 and have had no problems so far. You may want to try different FS2002 / 9700 Control Panel AA setting combinations.Good luck

Hi Dennis,I have a nearly identical system to yours except I'm running Win XP Pro with a 2.8 Pentium 4. I upgraded to the 9700 Pro from a GF4. So far I have had the best luck with the Catalyst 3.0 drivers with Directx 9.0 installed. I'm still tweaking but there is no question that the GF4 was more stable for me but you cant beat the 9700 for performance. I would give the 3.0 a try.Good Luck,Pesi
