January 8, 200323 yr I have owned a CH Flight Sim Yoke LE USB for the past 16 monthsand use it almost daily. Overall, I'm delighted with it'sperformnace, but I have noticed lately that it is somewhatsluggish --- not returning consistently to the home or handsoff position, or needing extra effort at the limits of movement. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to a safe method forcleaning and/or lubricating the control shaft? I have nodesire to take the unit apart, and need to make sure thatI don't do anything that would contaminate the internalposition and movement sensors.Thanks.Wayne Allen, CYYZ
January 8, 200323 yr Pure petroleum vaseline! The perfect lubricant for plastic shafts!First pull on the shaft to bring it far back as possible and clean the shaft with benzine. Warning. use PURE oilfree benzine for cleaning and NOT any other. Do the same on the other end by pushing the shaft as far as possible. Then repeating, lubricate the shaft with your fingers with a slight amount of pure petroleum vaseline. You only need to do this once a year. However, after 2 years of use it may be needed to open up the yoke and also clean/lubricate the inside moving parts and potensiometers too.(The pots are cleaned with a special spray)Hope this helps...George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
