Looking to replace my GeForce 3 ti 200, gonna put that one in my son's new computer, and I'm looking at the ATI 9700. However, I'm noticing that at BestBuy there's a 9700 for 399.99 and a 9500 for 199.99 (after rebate). The only difference I can see is the memory speed, the 9700 running at 620mhz, the 9500 running at 540mhz. Is this the only difference, would this difference in memory speed make up for a 200.00 dollar difference? Anyone have a 9500?Also, memory. I'm running PC2100 memory right now, it's going to have to migrate over to my son's computer, so I've got to get new memory for my GA7AXVP mobo. I found some GameVE (house brand made by Giel) PC3200 for a good price, or should I stick with a known brand like Kingston, Corsair, or Crucial? I know I want to stay away from Samsung, haven't had good luck with them. Thanks,Lobaeux

Lobaeux, There is more of a difference than just clock speeds. The 9700 has a 256 bit pipeline for the memory. The 9500 has a 128 Bit. This translates to twice the bandwidth. almost 20Gb/sec theoretical for the 9700 Pro. Also, dont underestimate the difference in clock speeds. Core freq. isnt as big a deal as the speed of the memory and the 9700 has it in spades over the 95. Is it worth the money. Right now no but as Sims become more graphic bus dependant and games such as DOOMIII arrive you will wish you had that extra bandwidth.Hope this helps.Bobby
