Any good laptop experiences

Recommended Posts

Hey gang,My company is buying me a new laptop, and of course what's important to me is how well it will perform for flight sim ;-) The specs on the current laptops blow away my current desktop, except in the important area of graphics card. Anyone have good 3D FS2002 performance from a laptop? I'm limited to Toshiba but interested in hearing about any brand.

I used a Tecra 8000 with a USB joystick for some time with FS2000. It had a 366 mHz Pentium and 128 mb memory, 14gB drive.FPS was marginal with most options turned down/off, but it was still useful for a few half-hours of entertainment here and there. But I fail to see how something like the Toshiba Tecra 9100 model PT910C-1V1ECP with 1.8 gHz would not be satistfactory. Just talk the employer into the 1gig memory option and the biggest disk they will give you. That laptop will still be very useful for real work 5 years or more from now. Art.

Thanks Shay & Art. The Tecra 9100 is one I have my eye on...along with the Tablet PC (could make a great FMC!)
