GF4 Ti4800 or Radeon 9500 Pro?

Gainward Ti 4800 128mb "Golden Sample"-----OR-----Radeon 9500 ProBoth cards go for about 200 bucks, so price isn't a factor. It will be going into the following machine:P4 2.53GHz CPUP4PE/L Asus mobo512mb PC2700 Crucial RAMWinXP (home ed.)Any thoughts?Tim13

Errr...... the 9500 PRO is actually a faster card in most situations. The Ti4800 is an AGP 8X version of the Ti4600 & is hardly worth the extra cost because AGP 8X holds no real performance lead over AGP 4X w/ current games. In terms of driver support, yes I'd agree that Nvidia is still the king, however ATI has really been working hard over the last year or so to bring their drivers up to snuff & at this point don't fall too far behind Nvidia.I've mostly owned Nvidia graphics cards, but recently took a chance on an ATI Radeon 9700 PRO & can honestly say that I'd have a hard time going back unless Nvidia really spruced up its graphic image quality & performance @ higher resolutions w/ FSAA & Aniso enabled.Cheers.

Thanks for the responses. The verdict is in------------ATI wins.I have the parts for my new system coming this week and needed to make a decision. I went with ATI because of the praise that people have for this card (when it's working correctly...LOL) for it's superb image quality. I must say that I hit the "buy button" with a little trepidation after reading the rage3d.com forums, but I have my fingers crossed since it's going into a fresh system that has never even smelled a nvidia based card.Tim13
