Sound Card issue,,,,,,,,,,,,

Featured Replies

Hi all!Recently, Ive been getting a Blue Screen of Death, i like to call. It would happen about 5-10 mintues into flying. According to Micrsoft, it was a sound card problem. I never had this problem before, until I installed new drivers. The card should still be good, its a TB Santa Cruz. I remember intalling VxD drivers. Should I have installed the WDM instead? (<-the tech guy never got back on that one) The tech guy says I now have to have no sound acceleration in Direct 8, which is working and crappy at the same time. But is it the drivers? Thanks all!

I belive you have Win98? This issue with Santa Cruz under 98 is well known and has been fixed in XP.I had exactly same problem when I went back to win98 for short time. You might want to give beta win98 drivers on Turtle Beach site a try and see if they had addressed this issue. If not,http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;287701Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.Double-click Santa Cruz Control Panel.Click Other tab.Click to clear the Enable Direct Sound Acceleration check box.Close Santa Cruz Control Panel.Restart the game.edit: The link says FS2000 but same applies to FS2002.

i actually have WinME......same remedie?Thanks!
