First off, I've been into Computer games for about 10 yearsnow, and make up my own puters.SO I'm here in desperation, as I have tried all the obviousLatest MoBo, Video, Monitor drivers, Patches, Game Forumsand FAQ's.I have a P4 2.5 gig, GForce4 Ti4200 AGP8X,MSI 648 AGP8x MoBo, 80gig IBM HD with plenty of room.Sound Blaster Live Value.Dual booting WinXP and Win98.Crashes happen on both XP & Win98 and DX 8.1b & 9.FS2002 runs perfectly and has never crashed on this system.Man, and How GREAAAAAAAAAAAAT THAT IS!!!! :)So do all of my older games and some new games.However I recently got EA's Tiger Woods 2003.It randomly crashes with the screen going black, andI have to reboot.Next I tried the Splinter Cell Demo....Exact same type of Crash.Hmm....Just the demo me thinks.No, the Full game crashes just the same.A new Ghost Recon Complete package.....same Black screen crash.The IGI 2(I'm Going In)demo.....same crash again.Whats going on....A new system, new drivers...but won't runnew games. Other people are having similar problems with thesegames also, but it seems there must be something funny goingon with all these different games all crashing in the same way.Hoping all the expertise that hangs out here can shed some lighton this matter. I'm currently DL'ing the Nvidia 43.0 ref driver in hope also.

have you tried installing old drivers like 39.X or a set of dirvers that was working fine for you before?

PhilHmmm now you got me thinkingYknow Ive had a bad weekend; I had to reinstall windows 2000 pro because it went into one weird loop while I was changing vid drivers; its never crashed for say 1 yearNow FS2002 runs fine BUT my sons Unreal2 and Command Generals just will not work, Ive tried the lot different drivers different 4 in 1 setups ram timing AGP result NOTHING.Even stranger the rrors I get are reported as bugs for both games but HEY the makers have NO ANSWERS!!! so thats 70 quid wasted.They are to be fair up against it cos systems are so different; whats weirsd is that my set ups are exactly the same as before aaarrrghhhSun

Hmmm...ccgr...that remindes me, maybe a clue.I can't get the 3X drivers to work...Removed the old drivers,Tried and tried.WinXP just locks at the Welcome screen I think.Cant exaclty remember what happens.I went from a GForce2 MX to the GF4 128MB agp x8 card andsince then, only 40.72, 41.09 and the 43.OO Beta, which didn'tfix the problem, now work.Maybe cause its and AGPx8 MoBo and card.????

HiWell Ive made a little progressUnreal 2 will run if I disable T & L in the .ini file by writing false instaed of true, this essentially runs the game in software mode.It runs fine and looks quite good but I wish I knew why?That wud suggest its some kind of DX problem given my card doesnt support 9How do we explain that FS2002 a real v######y programme runs great.Sun
