March 16, 200323 yr Hi all,I plan to buy a new pc configuration with multiple display setup. What hardware is recommended? What kind of graphics card should I buy to run Flight Simulator properly on multiple display's?While surfing around searching for hardware, I read about a company called Matrox. This company says that their producs are being used by Flight Simulator enthousiasts. Is this true? Are their products worth the money?Do I need anything else like special software? Where can I get that software?I hope you can answer my questions.Regards from Amsterdam,Alexander SierPlease visit The Dutch Flight Simulator Site: www.hinttech.com/~dfs
March 17, 200323 yr The card from Matrox that caught a lot of attention from the FS community is the Parhelia. The Matrox Parhelia can output to 3 monitors at the same time. But it isnt a very powerful card, you can only do 640x480 in each monitor if you have 3, and the fps is average at best. I believe some Nvidia GeForce 3's and 4's provide dual outputs. These are pretty good cards to some people, but I never really messed with a GeForce card, so I cant really comment on it. Some ATI Radeon cards have this capability too.I think you should go to a hardware review site like www.tomshardware.com or www.anandtech.com and find out what card is the best for you. They usually have lots of info about this sort of thing.
March 17, 200323 yr I use GF4 TI4400 and have dual screen, setup is very easy and works quite well. While you can do 3D display on both monitors in FS2002 I tend to use only 1 screen for 3D and the other for panels.(sorry for oversized images)http://www.bgic.org/~georgi55/FS2002_Surround.JPGhttp://www.bgic.org/~georgi55/FS2002_Dual1.jpg
