April 18, 200323 yr Tonight I set myself up to fly on VATSIM for the first time in a while, and after over an hour of planning (my saved route apparently had become obsolete with the new AIRAC cycle... :-roll) I called up Ground to get my IFR clearance, only to find that ATC couldn't hear me. :-( I tested the mic in Roger Wilco - no sound. I tested it in the Windows sound recorder (not sure what its name is in English: the most basic, "default" sound recording program). Nothing recorded there either, just background static.I ruled out the microphone itself as the cause of the problem by checking it in another computer, and I find it hard to believe that it has to do with the sound card since I can hear input from the mic through the speakers if microphone playback isn't muted (but that doesn't mean that I can hear anything I record, regardless of the mic volume). So I guess this leaves it to some kind of software problem, but what?!I haven't made any software changes that I can imagine would affect the sound - the only major change I've done lately is double the amount of RAM.My specs:P4 1.7 GHz, 512 MB RDRAM, GeForce2 Pro, Soundblaster PCIThanks for any help,Martin767 fetishistIt's a lot like life and that's what's appealing
