Geforce 4 Ti 4600 or Geforce FX

Featured Replies

I am thinking of upgrading my AMD 1600 for the new Pentium 4 3GHZ with 800 FSB. Not knowing anything about computers, I was wondering whether to upgrade my Video card to a Geforce4 Ti 4600 or the new Geforce FX.Any help would be most greatly appreciated. Many thanks, kind regardschrisEGBB

Chris,If your planning on spending the money your talking about than purchase neither. Buy yourself a 9800 or even a 9700 and watch it leave both sitting in a cloud of dust. Both offer native support for DirectX9 and when quality settings are turned up (Such as in games and FS2002, it spanks any card out there) Neither comes close except for maybe the FX and even than it's never benchmarked better than 3% faster at certains tests than the 9700 and really is slower than the 9800. Thanks Bobby, I'll keep saving for that pentium 4 with the 800 FSB.Best wishes,Chris
