May 21, 200323 yr Hey guys. Ever since i have installed the 9700 AIW, i have been having problems with my system. On boot up, i get a lot of delayed write errors constantly. It kept corrupting files and forced me to run the chkdsk utility. Now for some reason, the dirty bit on my D and E drives will not reset and chkdsk runs on every boot. The delayed write errors are off and on, but now its happening a lot and its starting to affect the computer a lot, i.e the blue screens of death. Anyone know why this might be happening. I am using the Omega 3.4 drivers (the hacked version). Tonight i will install the clean omega 3.4 drivers to see if that is the problem, but with the amount of users overclocking their cards to great satisfaction, i dont see why my card would act this way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.Chris
May 31, 200323 yr chris, I am having exactly the same problems after an upgrade to 9700pro. I'm still trying to find the fault. Unfortunately you will find that sooner of later xp system files will corrupt and you will have to re-install windows xp. I have noticed that if you have memory usage on programs instead of system cache the problem seems to disappear ( for the meanwhile at least ).I prefer to run on system cache as it speeds up fs2002 but this may be the problem. I would also appreciate any help. petejohno system athlon1600 xpwinxp576 pc133 ramradeon 9700 pro - omega 3.4 non hacked driversabit kt7a motherboard
May 31, 200323 yr Just to check guys, you both are running the latest Bios' for your motherboards correct?. Also, have either or both of you switched to ATI from Nvidia?. If you have switched than you need to run a Det. Driver removal tool before installing the 9700. If you are not running the latest Bios for your motherboards there are instances of this causing corruption and BSOD issues. If all else fails as sad as it may seem, a fresh install of Windows will usually do the deal. I know it's a Bit** but if you haven't done a clean install in over a year you may find a performance improvement along with the card working correctly.Bobby
