May 22, 200323 yr My Specs:P4 Intel 2.4Windows XP Home512 Crucial DDR33380G ATA 7200 HD with about 65G available*************************************************************So, I think my Ti4600 card blew up right...OK, No problem, gives me an excuse to switch to Radeon ;-) Buy the 9800 Pro, plug it in, fire up FS2002, graphics look the same, if not worse, check settings, drivers, 6x AA is on 4, 8, & 16x Anistropic filtering with no visual difference what so ever. Everything is jaggie and I experienced the same with my Ti4600 which at first was awesome, i Had great clear textures to the horizon.Well...humm, this isn't good, fiddle with the AA and Anistropic some more, boot the game back up and BOOM! Primary monitor goes black, secondary is still on, same thing that happened with my Ti4600 when I thought it blew. Cold boot the comp, try again, boom! whole computer just shuts down. This is the state it's in now. Start any game up and boom! computer shuts down. I have the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers installed and a 300w power supply. You Pros have any ideas? ;-)Thanks! oh and while I was waiting on my 9800 to arrive I was using my ole trusty MX440 with no problems LOL ;-)
May 22, 200323 yr Ahhh.....other than, yes I'm feeling a little "rage" right now that link appears to be dead.
May 22, 200323 yr It'll be up again soon. That's the main ATI troubleshooting site. All you answers will be there and then a few. That's where the experts hide out.
May 22, 200323 yr Thanks! I wonder if 300w isn't enough juice? I'm running a HD, DVD & CD-RW, for drives and of course you plug this little puppy into the HD and share the juice???Hummm..... I can do normal office work. Last night I was running both monitors, Photoshop, IE, Outlook Express, MSN Messenger, Dreamweaver MX, WSFTP Pro, etc all at the same time without a problem, it's just the games...
May 22, 200323 yr I think that might be the problem. With a 2.4 GHz processor and the card sharing the HD, as well as 2 other drives, your power is getting squeezed dry. Up the power to 350 or 400, might just solve your problems.Chris
May 22, 200323 yr You know the crappy CD-RW drive I have has never worked ARTEC ;-)I think I'll unplug that thing and see if it makes a difference. Thanks again, I'll let you know if I have any success tonight ;-)Thanks for the help all!
