I'm on the market for a card. I was headed to purchase a 9700 or a 9800 but looking here and there I've just discovered on a forum that ATI cards apparently do not process "fog/particle tables" (one of the way to create smoke and fog). That is only a problem for a handful of games (not for FS2K2) but unfortunately it is for one of my favorites (i.e. Combat Mission). Nvidia's are okSo if you're on the market as well, watch out.Hope that helps.Dominique

I know this was a problem with older ATI cards but I have no problem w fog rendering in any of the games I play. Some people have had issues w the 9700 but most were corrected w driver and or game fixes.Bobby

I understand from various posts that the problem is still here. ATI cards show vertex fog all right but not table fog.Believe me, I'd be glad to be contradicted on this issue by somebody using such a card and a table fog game, seeing the price of the forthcoming 5900 :D ...How is the ASUS P4C800 doing Bobby ?thanksDominique
