New Simulation Machine

Featured Replies

Hey guys, kinda new to the area, looking to get a new computer system for the upcoming FS 2004.I live in Australia and im lookin at Dell at the moment, got my eye on the Dimension 8300, heard its a strong machine. My question lies with the graphics card, the Monitor, and the Hard Drive. As far as the GC goes, dell offers the:128Mb ATI Radeon 9800 TX or the 9800 ProWhat is the difference and does the later justify a $AUD 480 difference?Secondly, dell offers three 120Gb Hard Drives:120Gb SATA (7200Rpm)120Gb SATA RAID 0 (Data stripping)120Gb SATA RAID 1 (Data Mirroring) Could someone please tell me what the difference is between the threee and is it worth getting one of the second two cousidering they are roughly double the price...Finally, The old question about the LCD vs. CRTDell offers the 18inch ultrasharp LCD flat panel display, is it worth the $ to get the space saving, aesthetically pleasing LCD, or do the problems out weigh the advantages. What exactly are the problems?Any ones help on any of the above topics would be very appreciated,Thanks guys, reguards Mark.

However, this is only if you are the ultimate tweaker and just HAVE to be able to have the most fast machine out there. Basically, what I am saying is you can live without it ;-) It is a nice feature, to be sure....
