June 12, 200322 yr Hey all --This problem just started on my PC. I will get the occasional flicker on my computer. What is wierd is that it flickers the icons, open windows, but not the actual desktop background. And it happens on only one of my monitors. There is no pattern, I cannot figure out what is causing this flickering. Quite frusterating....any idea? Specs in sig
June 13, 200322 yr Fred,I've been fighting the same problem. Normally I can see the flickering on the right side, I've got my other monitor over there. It's really only noticeable when I've hit 'alt' and the pull-down menu is open. I don't notice it when on the desktop. Now, my other monitor flickers on the left, I notice it right now. There's some sort of interference between the two. I've heard suggestions such as putting aluminum foil between the two, while attaching a ground to it. Tried it but didn't really work. Not sure why mine is doing it, it just started as well. Very irritating.
June 13, 200322 yr Do you guys have any sort of items with magnets in them around the monitor? I know that can cause problems with monitors.
June 13, 200322 yr That is a good question, I don't think I have any magnents around these monitors. :-hmmm
June 14, 200322 yr No magnets, I've got two computer speakers about 18" away. I don't think that'd be a problem though. I was concerned at first about the GeForce 2 MX PCI that I also put in, I might take it out to see if it's causing a problem. I also have the VGA output attached to the TV out on my 9800 Pro. I'm going to try taking that off as well until I hook up my extra monitor. My problem didn't really start until I hooked up an old monitor to the second out on the 9800. I've since removed that monitor, but still getting the flickering.
