Geforce 4200/TI--much better results--and FS2004 loves it!

Recommended Posts

As some who read here often know, I tried a Radeon 9200 earlier this week, and found its performance for whatever reason, far worse than my old and dying Geforce 2/TI.... I returned it, and decided to go with another hard to get, but oft recommended card--an OEM 4200/TI I ordered from Shentech with 128 Megs VRAM... It's a whole new ballgame... RAW FPS isn't faster--didn't expect that at the 800x600 res. I prefer. But 2X AA, which hit my system in FS2002 and FS2004, now has no penalty. Neither do A/C reflections. And FS2004 has the most beautiful water reflections and scenery now in general.... Almost seems like FS2004 was made with the 4200 in mind....I'm very pleased with it...it was hard to find one which would work with my 250W power supply, but I finally located an Asylum OEM, which I believe is a rebadged Visiontek card....I've noticed an incredible improvement in 2-d performance as well. For those on a budget (the card was $90), the 4200 is well worth considering, and works utterly perfect on my my old '800....
