Best Drivers for 9700 PRO

Featured Replies

WHat are the best drivers for the 9700 PRO? Reason I'm asking is because even at 20+ fps, ground textures stutter, shimmer, shake...etc. My aircraft paints don't look so hot either...EDIT: My system is: P4 2.4b GHZ ATI 9700 AIW PRO (128MB) 60 Gig Hard Drive Gigabyte GA-8PE667 512 MB PC2700 RAM (258MB free as I write this, why?) Directx 9.0

I just installed the new catalist 3.6 drivers and am very pleased.King

First question is are you running the latest Chipset drivers for your MB?. Next, what are your slider settings in FS2K2? My first concern is how many applications are running in the back such that your below 50% on your system resources ??? This is a start. My main concern would be dealing with apps that start at startup and are running in the background stealing resources and slowing down FS.Bobby

I use the Catalyst 3.4 The Cat 3.5 and 3.6 drivers give me solid black shadows when running flightsimulator 2002 in windowed mode. No problem in fullscreen mode. Windowed mode screenshot with Cat 3.6 (solid black shadows)http://home.comcast.net/~john_rogers/fs2k2_windowed.jpg Fullscreen mode screenshot with Cat 3.6 (transparent shadows)http://home.comcast.net/~john_rogers/fs2k2_fullscreen.jpgI would use the Cat 3.6 were it not for the "solid black shadows" in windowed mode.john(KEWB)

Hi,Am wondering whether to upgrade from the Catalyst 3.4's, which give me no problems whatsoever. Any performance / FPS improvement with the 3.6 drivers? That would be my only reason to upgrade...Best,Joel

I wasn't sure so I went to http://www.giga-byte.com and I only found drivers for Intel Applicaiton Accelerator Are these what I should install?

Really didn't notice any significant performance or FPS increase. There were mostly fixes. A link for the list of fixes can be found at the ATI CAT 3.6 driver download web page. john(KEWB)
