August 4, 200322 yr Hiya Bobby,I have been using this system since spring and was wondering if it would be too late for a burn in, if its not too late, what Burn In program should I use?
August 5, 200322 yr AC,By now your a little late. :( At this point a burn in will only stress the CPU perhaps revealing instability issues but thats about it.On systems I build I use the burn in wizard within SiSoft Sandra. Works quite nicely.Bobby
August 5, 200322 yr So I should have it burnt in now right? Does a burn in affect its over all performance?
August 5, 200322 yr >Hiya Bobby,>>I have been using this system since spring and was wondering>if it would be too late for a burn in, if its not too late,>what Burn In program should I use?You can perform burn in at any time; the best time is while your system or components are still under warranty as you are looking for defects that will hold you back. There is a lot of BS out there about burning in (I'm not referring to Bobby as like me he is just passing on what he knows to try and help), so check around for good sources of info. Here is some great info written by a guy in the semiconductor manufacturing business that tries to explain some of what is understood as not all is at the moment.Though this article is now a little old it also provides links to most all of the best burn-in progies out there so enjoy: http://people.freenet.de/s.urfer/conditioning.htmThen read some of the comments that shed a little better light:http://forum.arstechnica.com/forum/ubb/For...TML/001890.html
