Better FS-2004 Video

I would like to be able to run FS2004 at more than just the default settings. Besides replacing my P4 2.2GHz with a 2.8 to 3.2 GHz @800 MHz FSB, I would like to improve the video from the present Ti-4600 to a Radeon 9700 or 9800 Pro.My question is would I be able to see any difference in the imagage quality on my 1998 AOC 9Glr 19" monitor which can only run smoothly at 1280 x 960. Any higher setting and the monitor does weird things like making all sorts of noise and blanking out the video.Since this monitor only measure 17.8 viewable, I would also like to get something with a larger view, say in the 21 to 23" range with a "Flat Screen". Notice I said screen and not panel only because supposedly there are not many "Fast" 16 to 20 Ms "Response Time" models on the market which is what is needed for fast gaming, so they say.Before spending lots of money, I would like to hear if this is the right way to improve image/video quality in FS 2004.Thanks,Terry
