Overclocking a Ti4200

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a MSI Ti4200 128MB.My question is how far can I overclock it and if there is any chance I could damage the card?I'm a beginner in these overclocking things... Help would be appreciatted....http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30195.jpg___________________________________________________ Lu

Well it depends on cooling, I overclocked my Ti4200, Core Clock 250->270 and the memory to 460->500, FS then started to run slow, so I brought the Memory down 500->460, 460 is the default and it runs faster then now then when the memory was at 500, you do have to be careful, I wold start with small increments and see what happens.

Interesting, I run mine at 275/513 and I gain about 7 fps over the default. Just so slow with default settings it's unbearable, I can get 25 fps mostly with the PSS A320 with a lot of options maxed.

Yes, default, no crashes at all. XP is a dream come true.

I'm not sure how, but the accepted method is going up by 5 Mhz until you get screen corruption or analomies, then back down 10 mhz or so.

Well well well, from all I've read this seems a very useful way to increase performance, and doesn't seem to damage the card. Is this really that easy? If I overclock in small increments until I get screen corruption and then back it down, Is there any way I can damage my card if I do it like that?I'd like the performance increase, but what I wouldn't like is to damage my card!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30195.jpg___________________________________________________ Lu

Well, that's the way most do it, and for the most part no one has had damage done. Just be cautious and it should be ok. Use a program like Rivatuner.

Sure you can, if it gives you overclocking features.
