Featured Replies

Hii FriendsI have not big experience for Settings of ( Anti Aliasing , Anisotropic , Wait for Sync and TRUFOR tm )Can anyone be so kind and explain to me what kind of setting I must do both for Direkt 3D and Open GL sections..Your kind furnishing help will be highly appreciated.P.s All additional advises for FS2004 Display Sliders position are most welcome.Best RegardsHasan Alpay

If you only use FS2004, you only need to worry about Direct3D. I can tell you what some of the other settings do. My control panel is a bit different in a way, but most stuff will apply.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/48789.jpg1) Anisotropic filtering - This just makes faraway textures a bit sharper. In my experience, this really doesn't do a whole lot in FS2004, perhaps its my older card.2) Antialiasing - This makes the game have a nice smooth look to it, although on some cards, it will cause slowdowns. If your card can handle antialiasing with little loss of fps, you should use it. I turned on 2x antialiasing, but even thats enough to see a little difference.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/48796.jpg3) Texture preference and Mipmap detail level sliders - Keep these at max. If you back them down, you won't gain any performance and the textures would look yucky.4) Vertical Sync - I think its best to keep this at off. Actually, most people cannot tell the difference if its left on or off. I just keep it off so some games (not FS2004) can go faster than 60fps.As for Truform, I don't know. My card is pretty old, and doesn't have that feature.

Thank you very mush indeed..Have you ever had a " shimmering " problem during approaches if you look through Runway, Airport buildings faces ..They are blinking, tilting and shimmering ..How can I get rid of it ?Pls inform..RgdsHasan

Hi Hasan,What are the rest of your system specs? Thanks,

HiiMy PC configuration as follows :HDD : Serial ATA - 80 Gb - 7200 RpmProccessor : INTEL P4 Hyper Threading CPU - P 2,4 Ghz Main Board : INTEL D 875 PBZ [bios Ver : BZ87510A.86A.0068.P14

With your system you could try the settings in my screenshot below. They work well om my AMD system running at 2.4Ghz and 9700 Pro. I'm using the Omega 2.4.96c drivers (Omega 3.9's).Regarding your shimmering buildings... the MipMap slider in the sim should be set to 4-5. Any higher makes the shimmering unacceptable.Hope this helps,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/48829.jpg
