well to remoe apps from loading click on start, then run ans type msconfig. Go to the startup TAB and uncheck what you dn't want loading. For the hangups go to http://www.memtest86.com and make a bootable floppy and test your RAM. (it's free)

Does it hang at all? If it just stutters, than most likely it isn't your memory timings being too aggressive. Memtest will boot in DOS and test your memory for stability, however unstable ram usually freezes your system.Run MSConfig and remove all unecessary startup apps...but make sure you know which you are turning off. You can shut Norton off here, as well as under the "Services Tab" within MSCONFIG, however MAKE SURE you click "HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVICES" first!!! Try turning your pagefile back on, with a setting of 512/1024 respectively. If you're still getting stutters, try lowering your graphics card settings and see what happens.MikeP4 2.4C @3.44 285FSBAsus P4C800 Deluxe1gb Corsair XMS PC3500 Asus V9950 FX5900 Ultra 256mb 500/950SB Audigy2 Platinum ExWatercooled baby!!!Pics: http://community.webshots.com/user/chksix2002Areyounervousyet.jpg
