Building new system for MSFS, comments and advice neede...

Hi folks, been a long time lurker here, and finally getting around to building a new machine for fs9. I haven't built a machine in a couple years, a pIII 700, so I'm a little rusty on what works good with what. From the last couple weeks of digging thru the forums, and hardware websites, here's what I came up with that I'm looking at. My budget is in the $1,500 to $1,700 USD range.P4C800-E DeluxeIntel P4 3.0C HT 800 FSB1 gig Kingston HyperX (512MBx2) DDR PC-3200 (KHX3200K2/512)WD Raptor 36.7GB 10,000RPM SATA HDATI Radeon 9800PRO 128MB DDR Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS PCIAntec "True480Blue" 480 Watt PSHaven't decided on a case yet.Anyone see any problems / conflicts?Any advice appreciated.Jon

If you want my advice...Swap that P4 3.0ghz for an AMD Athlon64 3000 1600mhz FSB. It will burn through FS with super speed and is actually cheaper. And to go with that 64-bit CPU, how about an nVidia nForce 3 Socket 754, 64bit mobo. Everything else is good although if you do go the nForce 3 route, you may wish to swap the Radeon for an nVidia Geforce FX card. The two will make beautiful contrails together in FS2004.Remember that although AMD CPU's have lower clock speeds, they are just as fast as thoes 3ghz P4s. My Duron 950 runs just as fast as people with 1.5ghz P4 systems. The 64bit technology will keep you on top and will work really well with Windows XP and future Microsoft Windows operating systems. The Athlon64 will run hot so make sure you get a case with really good cooling.
