GeForce FX 5900 problems

Featured Replies

I decided to finally upgrade my video card from the GeForce 3 Ti500 to the GeForce FX 5900 and can't even run FS2004 without it freezing or locking up. I can get to the main menu screen where I can create my flight, but as soon as I get on the runway, everything freezes up. The usual 3 button keypress doesn't get me out of the program so I have to completely shut down the computer and re-start. My computer specs are listed below...MSI K7N2-L Delta motherboardnForce2 Northbridge and Southbridge chipset1.24 GB PC3200 DDR RAMAthlon XP 2800+ Barton core processorGeForce FX 5900 w/ 128 MB DDR RAM video card300 W power supply============================================All drivers, BIOS, chipset, and DirectX have been updated to the latest and greatest. Any ideas on what it might be? I already called BFG Tech support and they are clueless on the problem.Shawn Andersonhttp://www.virtualswa.com/images/amdpower.gif

Two things;Try formatting your hard drive and installing Windows from scratch. This will kill any notion your system may have towards looking for a GeForce 3 card.If the GFFX5900 requires it's own molex connector, perhaps your 300W PSU is a little underpowered for the task. Try a 430W or higher.
