I just got a new raid mother board. It has 4 IDE connectors and two SATA conectors.Does this mean I can have 10 solo HD's if I want."solo" as in, non Raid setup.Or can 10 HD's only happen as a raid set up.

On SATA I believe you can have virtually "unlimited" number of drives. Each IDE supports 2, that means for sure 8 drives, plus the SATAs, I think are "serial", and can be just connected one after each other.

My MOBO manual says that the 2 SATA connectors will support only2 drives though.
