1Gig RAM is it worth it?

Featured Replies

Hi There,I am upgrading (via Powerleap) to a P4 2.8 GHz Processor. I'll be installing Win XP also. As I already have 512MB RAM, is another 512MB really necessary? (It has been reccomended as XP is RAM hungry)As you can see by my sig, I mostly fly the PMDG 737 which is very CPU / RAM hungry. I look forward to any advise and responses.Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."

Yes, 1Gb of PC3200 or better.

Thanks Rob, it's only PC800 as I have an old machine (hence the upgrade)Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."

PC800? Will that even work with a P4?

Yes it does work with a P4. All be it a 1.5Ghz P4 (yes I am another sucker who purchased Dell when I didn't know all that much about PC's!). You have to start some where and I won't fall for that trap next time.I'm upgrading via Powerleap to a P4 2.8 Ghz.Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle.
