No water action

Hi, Have just installed a new computer with plenty of everything. This is the first time though that I am using windows xp. I was using windows me before. I installed fs09 into computer. Everything seems to be fine except that I can't get the water movement. When I place sliders on high, for some reason the slider reverts back to low. I installed Bill and Lynn Lyons water textures but I am getting nothing. Before I switched to new computer, I had no problem with using this in windows me. I have the Nvidia mx400 graphics card that came with the Sony Vaio desktop. It has 64 mg. Can someone please help? Thank you much, S.

The mx400 card does not support the water detail in FS2004, I'm sorry to say, although it does in FS2002. This is due to Microsoft's use of DX-9 in FS2004, which the MX400 doesn't support. The MX400 is way out of date in terms of what video cards can do today. Do what I did if you're on a budjet--try to find a cheap 4200TI--mine is 128 megs, and it supports beautiful water reflections and detail... But consider even that a stepping stone, as it takes even more graphics card to get the best out of FS2004.-John
