November 20, 200421 yr I have a PC with intel celeron 2.6GHZ CPU, 256MB DDR RAM, 64MB video (integrated on motherboard).I'd like to know which I should purchase first? (most bang for the buck):- 512MB RAM module (with option to add another 512mb in the future)or- GE Force 5500 PCI 128mb video card (note: there is no AGP slot on my motherboard)i use this PC mainly for FS2004, and not much else.
November 20, 200421 yr I'm sorry save yourself some time and buy a new computer.unless you are running FS 98.
November 20, 200421 yr Author yea i know my comp sucks for flight simming but the upgrades i am looking at will only cost about $150 each. getting a faster computer would cost at least $500 or more. a new computer is definitely not in my budget and i would just like to increase my current comp's performance. right now, when i have FS 9 running with the sliders set to where i would like them to be, i am getting about 8-12 frames per sec. i just want to be able to get that up to about 15+ fps. that is all i want to do.
