Video card advice

Featured Replies

I have been using FS9 sense it it was realsed. But now that I have really got into playing it and doing the whole virtual airline thing. I'm getting the feeling it time to up grade my system. I do fine with the frame rates as long as I dont fly into big citys like if I go to KWER or any airport in the New York area it kills my frame rate it even worse at night when I'm flying around away from the citys with one of the jets I get around 14 to up to 23 FPS. I know that is not very good but it works. When I'm landing ot takeing off from a airport in the big citys at night I get 3 to maybe 8 FPS. I know thats really bad and that 8 FPS is if I turn all my secnery off. Here is my system specs.Windows XP Pro with SP2Processor Athlon 1000Mhz Ram 640 DDR PC1200Video card Ati Radeon 32Mb DRR it shows up a 7200.This computer can not use the new DDR Ram the motherboard only supports PC1200 but you can use then newer Ram and it will just use what it can.Would buying a better video card help me out much with this machine?.I installed a 512 DDR ram stick and that helped alot. I dont have the means to go out and buy and whole new computer right now. I'm just wanting to my fram rates up around 20 or so in the big citys enven if I have to turn my secenery way down. Thanks for the adivceRon
