February 21, 200521 yr I just bought the new AMD 64bit 3000+ processer, but the performence on fs is not satisfied at all! I'm thinking to sell it and buy a P4 3.2E and OC it to 3.8 as I still have an asus P4C-800 mobo.I wonder how this Intel processer will run on fs2004 after overclock, anyone has a smiliar system please tell me what fps you can get on fs2004.Thanks!
February 21, 200521 yr Hi Captain, me again! IMHO, you'll be disappointed if you 'downgrade' to a P4 Prescott. Why don't you try to tweak your AMD64/FS a bit to meet your expectations? I'ld again suggest to move a few sliders to the left. Perhaps start with a cloud draw distance of 40 miles and then set the visibility to 30? Turning off the scenery shadows helps as well. Another one is moving the water textures to half way max. Reducing the dynamic scenery can help too. Maybe bring the hardware rendered lights back to 6 or 7? Finally, perhaps move the AI-slider to i.e. 90% or a little bit less? You should see an improvement... Experiment... On the system side, did you activate the 1T command? Are you certain you've properly adjusted the bios? I.e., which AGP-aperture are you using? In your previous post you mentioned you're not using any AA/AF. You should be able to adjust that to 4xAA/8xAF. As far as I can judge, there shouldn't be a performance penalty as your display adpater should take the extra load. Hope this helps, good luck and kind regards Jaap PS: Fyi, I also have a P4 3GHz (2 actually; 1 on i845PE and 1 on i875P), nevertheless, my AMD64-3200 Clawhammer -on the 'slow' socket 754- outperforms both Intels by roughly 40% @ identical settings. Specially in areas where it matters most, like NYC etc. Btw, no overclocking.
February 21, 200521 yr hi Jaap,I did activate the 1T command and I think the bios settings are properly adjusted, I set 256mb for the AGP-aperture.I've just bought an nforce3 mobo which is the MSI K8N neo2 and after reinstalling the system again, the graphic card seem to be much slower than before with the same driver:-hmmm And one thing interesting is that if I overclock the graphic card like before, the performence get even worse!Anyway I'll try to do some other tweak to see if there is any improvement. Thanks for your help again!!
February 21, 200521 yr Hi Captain, you're welcome. Could you please post you entire specs for reference? I'm guessing you're on winXP, but i.e. which SP? Which tweaks did you apply to the OS? If memory isn't failing, you mentioned a 6800GT in the previous thread? There are some 6800s which were erroneoulsy shipped as 6800GTs. Maybe you got one? I.e. MSI is concerned. As for the AGP-aperture and assuming you're using 2x512MB RAM, perhaps lower it to 128MB? If you're using 512MB, definitely lower the aperture to 128 or even 64MB. Experiment. Here's a (French) site with some newer drivers for the nForce. Fyi, I use the v.6.37 and although depicted for the nForce4, they work fine on the nForce3 too. At least on my end... http://www.station-drivers.com/page/nvidia%20nforce.htm I just checked the page and saw there's a v.6.39 now. Perhaps try that one first? Btw, you'll also be able to find some newer Detonators @ station-drivers.com (main page, follow the link in the top section). Finally, are you using FS Autostart? Good luck and kind regards againJaap

And also do you use any aitraffic addon like Ultimate Traffic(UT)?Thanks.
