I am running FS9 without very good frame rate results. I am thinking of upgrading my system, and want to get the most bang for the buck. My current system is:AMD Athlon XP 1700 (POST inicates 1200. Does that sound right? I thought that AMD marketstheir chips faster than they actual run.)ECS (PCChips?) M810DLU motherboard256 MB of DDR 333 RAMOnboard 256 bit 3D 4X AGP video card with 64 MB frame buffer. The board does not have a AGP slot.155 GB hard drive space between 3 hard drives. With over 100 GB free. (Got a good deal on a 120 GB drive)Windows 2000 Pro.Again, I am looking for the most bang for the buck. My thinking is to concentrate on best video card I can afford. That would require a new motherboard. Is my CPU fast enough to get acceptable performance? If I replace my CPU, I will not be able to spend much on a video card. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

What is your price limit on video card. A major boost in performance will occur i syou upgrade your RAm, especially if your onboard video is using 64MB of it. Do you prefer ATI or Nvidia?

I can spend about $250. I was thinking $30-$40 on new motherboard and $200 - $250 on video card. Would keep current RAM and CPU.

I have an ATI 9800 at home and it's a sweet video card it handles everything I throw at it. Our website has a 9800pro that after shipping will be a little uner $200. Closer to the $250 mark would be an Nvidia 6600GT
